On September 30th, Bang the Bore hosted a show which featured performances from Cristián Alvear, Daniel Bennett, Seth Cooke, and Clive Henry. Alvear premiered Radu Malfatti's shizuka ni furu ame while the latter three—who help run Bang the Bore—were there for the final date of their UK tour. Art from one of their tour posters is above. Manfred Werder's stück 1998 is a massive project consisting of 160,000 time units written across its 4000-page score. The piece has been performed by numerous artists and Chilean guitarist Cristián Alvear is one such musician to do so. Recorded back in April of 2014, Alvear's actualization took place in Santiago and makes up pages 676-683 of the score. Irritable Hedgehog have just released this recording and you can stream the entire performance above. You can purchase a physical and digital copy of the album on the label's bandcamp page here. The consistent Vancouver-based record label caduc. have just released two new albums. The first is Hermit, a composition from Ryoko Akama that's performed by Cristián Alvear. Earlier this year, Alvear's disc on Rhizome.s featured an Akama composition entitled "line.ar.me". You can hear a snippet of the album above. The second new caduc. release comes from Steerage, a collaboration between A.F. Jones and Barry Chabala. The debut album from this duo is entitled entropy is what the state makes of it and you can stream one of its tracks above. A video for the same track can be viewed here as well. A.F. Jones released Repetend, Parallax with Derek Rogers back in March via Glistening Examples.

Despite having released two albums earlier this year, Chilean guitarist Cristián Alvear shows no signs of stopping. Radu Malfatti's b-boim label has just announced the release of its new album entitled shizuka ni furu ame, which roughly translates to quiet, sparse falling rain. The piece was composed by Malfatti and written specifically for Alvear. Those interested in purchasing the record can do so by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org. Malfatti also released One Man and a Fly on Cathnor earlier this year.
On September 28th, Alvear will be performing the piece later this month at Café Kino in Bristol. The show will also feature performances from Daniel Bennett, Seth Cooke, and Clive Henry. He will also be performing shizuka in Wrocław, Poland on October 6th for the 'XI Festiwal Muzyki Teatralnej' and at 'Centrum Amarant' in Poznan the following day.
