Listen to a Live Performance from Alec Livaditis and Peter Sloan

Last Thursday, Alec Livaditis performed a show with Peter Sloan that was broadcasted live on the Athens, GA-based college radio station WUOG. He's just released a recording of that performance on his Bandcamp page here. He's also uploaded a single entitled November  which features two field recordings that were incorporated into that exact performance. You can stream all of these above or on his Bandcamp page. The live performance is presumably meant to be streamed only, something that's made clear by the $99 price tag.

Download a New Track from David Velez

The always prolific field recording artist David Velez released a new track last week entitled 'Circadian rhythm disorders'. According to Velez, the piece is "about the essential role of objects in the perceptual construction of time." Naturally, the track contains some clock ticking in the midst of its dense, swirling layers. You can stream it in its entirety above. To download the recording and read more information on the piece, visit Velez's Bandcamp page here.

Bruno Duplant's Fictions Out Now on Aussenraum Records

Bruno Duplant's You are here (Somewhere) came out just a few days ago but he also released another full-length album the week before. The album is entitled Fictions and was released by Aussenraum Records. The press release for the album is as follows:

Two major nuclear disasters, Tchernobyl and Fukushima, left its traces in our collective memory. Their devastating impact on the immediate environment left behind the ghost towns of Prypiat and Futaba. French sound artist Bruno Duplant never visited these exclusion zones. He took their existence as a starting point for an electroacoustic composition to investigate the relationship between fiction and reality. Sonic journalism like Peter Cusack's "Sounds from dangerous places" documents the reality of exclusion zones. Bruno Duplant tries to translate the reality of such zones into fiction by using sounds which originally had no relation with these places. Two compositions of same length, one on Prypiat, the other on Futaba. Fiction as testimony of a reality easily forgotten, buried in silence. Fiction as recollection. Cover by Walter Methlagl, mastered by Giuseppe Ielasi. 300 copies on 180g vinyl.

You can listen to excerpts from the album above. You can find more information on the album and how to purchase it on the Aussenraum Records website here.

Kieran Daly Collaborates with Jophnie Advar on New Album

Florida musician Kieran Daly has a new album with Jophnie Advar out now on Madacy Jazz. The album is entitled For Four Days and features sixteen tracks that continue to show Daly's interest in evaluating specific genres on their environmental function. Here, Daly and Advar perform tracks derived from jazz standards while also performing three compositions by Lee Konitz, Thelonious Monk, and Lennie Tristano. Like Daly's release on Gauss PDF last year, there's a definite dry humor at play that makes the album a surprising treat. You can stream For Four Days above and download the entire album on the Madacy Jazz Bandcamp page here.

Daly has previously released two albums on futow and a cassette on Bánh Mì Verlag. He will also be a part of Sam Sfirri's upcoming -273.15ºC  on Dromos.
