Aguirre Records will be reissuing two albums in May that feature the Fluxus-affiliated composer and violinst Takehisa Kosugi. The first is of Taj Mahal Travellers' August 1974. The second is of Distant Voices, an album featuring a live recording of Steve Lacy, Yuji Takahashi, and Takeshia Kosugi in 1975. Those who don't wish to spend several hundred dollars on original copies of either albums will surely be relieved.

Both albums come with liner notes by Julian Cowley and are pressed on 180 gram vinyl. Limited edition copies of August 1974 with silkscreened artwork are also available. You can listen to both albums in their entirety below. More information about August 1974 can be found here. More information about Distant Voices can be found here.

The rest of the group were several years younger than Kosugi, and were all inspired by the spirit of the day.
Steve Lacy's rare Japanese collaboration album, originally released in 1976. Renowned for remarkable solo concerts that confirmed his mastery of the soprano horn and that carried its instrumental language into previously unexplored regions, Lacy also loved to collaborate with musicians who could inspire him to stretch the boundaries of his own artistry.
